One reason I hear from both men and women is that all of the dating apps are too damn impersonal, asking people to judge complete strangers on essentially how they appear through shitty selfies and short bios. Singles are given just a few hundred characters to tell others what they're like and try to show some personality.
That’s a ridiculous, disruptive concept that removed the effort from dating and lead to the toxic “swipe culture” that both women AND men have grown to hate in recent years but can’t seem to get away from!
